    Default I Have Been Busy

This is the reason why I have been busy for the past few months.......

Patchy quilt. The most complicated patch work I have ever done and its not finished yet.

This is the copy of what I am trying to make, the one on the right is my "progress chart". Pictures taken earlier. Now the patchwork is more than half finished. Hope to finish it before Christmas.

That is so beautiful! It takes real patience and skill to piece together a quilt. My grandmother was a quilter. Did all the piecing by hand and the quilting on a frame. I directed a musical called QUILTERS for the university where I work. As part of the event, I contacted the quilting societies in my little town and they put together a show of their work in the art gallery which is in the lobby of the theatre where QUILTERS played. They set up a wooden frame and showed people of all ages and both sexes how to quilt. It was a wonderful learning opportunity for me. I never knew how much skill and patience was required.

Your quilt is going to be amazing. It already looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Cheers,
    BD

Oh Tanya, so much work! But, the end result will be worth it. Is it to be a Christmas gift? If so, the recipient is one very lucky person to receive such a labor of love.
Did you also cut all of those tiny pieces?

Thank you all. I will post pic when its finished.

Katie, yes, its a thank you and christmas gift in one for a friend. I cut all the pieces by hand using templates I made myself and just a pair of scissors. Most quilters have professionally made templates and roller cutters.

It's beautiful, Tanya. Your friend is very lucky and must be very special to you. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.
