Smile Patch the Cat inspects the orchids

I brought all of my orchids inside to do a detailed check over in July, and our kitty cat (who passed away a month later at 16years old) Patch helped check for bugs.

She loved to drink water, and she helpfully checked the levels in the humidity trays, while helping herself to a sip.

She was pretty ill at this point, but she was thrilled to have interesting plants to smell and sleep amidst. Every time I watered she came over to see what I was doing.

We miss her so much, she was the best cat ever! Meg

Oh she was lovely! It's so sad when you lose a cat after so long. Mine is 19 and failing fast, I don't see him being with us at Xmas, Judi

JUDIK, sorry to hear that, it /s very hard to loose a member of the family for so many years. With Patch, it was actually a pretty good situation, she was sick, but not in any pain, and we had stopped trying to give her steroids twice a day, which upset her tummy. Untill the day she died she got up and greeted me when I cam home from work. The last night she was so weak that I stayed up all night with her, and was able to hold her and comfort her as she passed away.
Two things we did to rember her, which I recommend: We have a lovely statue in the garden where we burried her, in an area we call our "st. francais garden". And I mad a "Book ofPatch" with all of our favorite pictures, and wrote our best memories of her.
I hope that you kitty is happy and peaceful in the end of a very long, well lived life. Meg Kline

That is a lovely memorial for a dearly loved pet. The little cat statue and flowers are so very sweet.

I was very sorry to hear about Patch, I know how hard it was when I lost my first cat 12 years ago as they leave such a surprisingly big hole in your life.
