    Default another experiment

Yesterday I crossed an Oncidium with my psychopsis (which is also an oncidium) It looking like everything going good. The stigma door is closed today when I went to check it. Nothing much happening at the capsule. It is still green. Now all I can do is cross my finger and hope seed will produce. you can check out the picture of the parent at http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ini-onc-4.html
Here is the picture of the first day of the pollination stage. By looking at the picture you guy should know who is the dad and who is the mom. Like nature the female flower is ten time bigger the the male flower

Sounds like an interesting experiment. That could really produce something either beautiful or very bizarre.

Today I checked again and the flower started to wilt so that another good sign. The temperature go down to below 60. Hopefully it will not bother the plant. All the other bud still getting big and should be bloom in a few days. What should I do cut it or let it alone? The Psychopsis is a very big plant. at least 10+ leaves, and two new growth. The older spike is started to branch again. The red circles is the new branch. Please do give suggestion. Thank you

Don't cut it unless it stops producing buds on the older branch. then cut very close to the old buds.

Thank you Diane. Well the reason why I want to cut is that there are to many thing happening right now and I don't know if the plant can take it. New growths, new roots, buds, and a seed pod. Don't want to get the plant too much stress.

Here is the update of the seed pod. This one looking good so far. Hopefully some million seeds will product in the next few months. Another flower just opened a few days ago. BTW anyone know what that white flower ID. It is a miniature species type. The flower about one inch big. Can't detect any fragrant.

I think the unknown miniature may belong to the Asian genus Adenoncos... any idea where it originated from?
