    Hi John,

The first photo is of an orchid commonly called the 'nun' orchid. It is a Phaius orchid. I will have to let others help with the id of the one you call a 'snake' orchid. It is very pretty though.

Your grow area is really nice and large too! Everything looks so orderly.

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce is right it is a Phaius Tankervillae, also known as P. grandiflorus and is commonly known as Nun's Orchid, Nun's Cap, Swamp Orchid or Swamp Lilly. It looks like you have a very prolific plant there. I love mine, it just blooms its little heart out every year for me. Nice setup in your green house also.

Hi John, Looks like you have a huge area to grow your orchids in. It looks fantastic! Does the top of the house allow water to fall through or is it corrugated plastic?

Your orchids look fantastic. That Phaius tankervillae looks very happy. Beautiful Schomburgkia too. Sorry can't help with the name of it.

The third plant is a Dockrilla. The genus was separated from the bigger genus Dendrobium recently. It could be the species Dockrilla schoenina. Bear in mind though that there have been quite a bit of breeding done to this group lately. So try and get to local Orchid shows and look out for plants and flowers similar to yours within the genus Dockrilla.

    cheers

John, I have the perfect place in my backyard just waiting for that greenhouse! You could transport it (and the orchids) to central Iowa anytime! You'ld have to change your sign-in name since we have no sea here.

    Hi all.
Thanks again for the help.To 'Bench' the g/house is covered in shade cloth with the centre covered in the rigid plastic (so i can play with them if raining)otherwise most are quiet happy outside..
I can't find the Dockrilla in my list so I must have got it with the second lot (with no list).
    To 'cindiras',sorry but you're a bit far away.Love the little budgie.John
