Pretty Color !!! I didn't know that they developed the color as they aged. We have a Bubba too but he is black and has whiskers and no tail.

Oh, he is cute. I am down to one gold fish - lol. He is about two years old and has grown very large. I got him for .28 cents. He was a feeder gold fish and I put him in with my lotus plant on the deck last year. He overwintered in the greenhouse last winter and this year we moved him into the fish tank in the house. I really need to get him a buddy.
I wonder if a Beta would fight with him? I think the red ones and blue ones are really interesting.
Cheers,
BD
He looks great! I had 'Clyde' for about 3 years at work. I think he finally died from too much computer exposure!
I don't think a Betta would be a good choice for your goldfish Bettas like warm water .I had several bait goldfish given to me at the other house I put them in the stock tank , it had a heater to keep it from freezing . They got huge and reproduced . How about another gold fish ? Can put a Betta in a community tank but the other fish pick on them nipping fins .
Poor Clyde stayed up all night surfing lol . When you get them at a Pet Shop they are mature the life span is not that long for them . Thanks for looking at Bubba . Gin
Started out with 24 Goldfish in my pond down to 2 in less than 3 yrs. They keep disappearing, no trace of them at all. Don't know if it's snakes, birds or what that's taking them. They were beautiful and all had names and their own personalities.

Since Gin started it <hehehe> here is a shot of my 'indoor' fish. This is the little one that I talked about earlier in this thread. This is normally a plant tank, but I dumped this guy in since he would probably die outside. There was no room to move the lotus tub back into the gh this year.
Cheers,
BD
Is that the Lotus tub ? Pretty contrast in color . I had several in my other greenhouse in an aquarium all was fine until the power went out , no fans . they got to hot and died .
Ischel might be racoons or cats or hawks hard to tell , we have a heron that is fishing the pond . The ones in the stock tank disappeared , I think racoons got them . Gin
