    Default Fir bark size

Today, I received a shipment of supplies I've been waiting for, new pots, charcoal, fir bark, etc. Once I opened it I realized I forgot to order fine grade fir bark, I thought I ordered both fine and medium grade, but apparently I only ordered medium. I need to repot this baby Catt. that I just bought, it's one of those that come in a mesh bag, but I think med. grade fir bark is too big. So, should I go ahead and order some more fine bark, or can I just break some of what I have into smaller pieces?

You should be fine potting it up in the medium bark. It just means you will have to water more often. If you chop up some sphag and mix it in, it will help hold a bit more water. That should eliminate the need to spend more money on another order of bark.

    Cheers,

Thanks, I have plenty of NZ sphag, so that's what I will do.

I have not been able to find a reference to the Frada Green parent anywhere on the internet or in OrchidWiz. Do you know where you got the plant? It might lead to the true identity. Thanks
