I don't have netting. What is Sevin, Louis? Have not heard of it.

Default I grow everything outside in the land that bugs grow as big as cars--

we don't have too much trouble with bugs on the orchids, actually all the lizards and birds keep the bugs at bay here. I have fewer bug problems outside than I did growing inside a screened porch. I think the benefits of sunshine and rainwater far outweigh the potential bug problem.

I recall being terrified of slugs getting on my phals, but that has been only once in a while. The gravel in the slat house floor really ended that problem.

    Good luck!

I always thought that getting plants to spike was going to be a big problem & i thought that i would need lots of experience to be successful.
With the plants outside in my mini orchid house it,s so easy !
The 2 Phals i,ve put outside after removing their spikes have re-spiked within a month , a Vukl cambria"Plush" seedling has spiked & another Vukl that had 2 spikes removed a few weeks ago has re-spiked.
    They love it out there.
I,m going to probably get a greenhouse frame next year & cover it with 50% shade cloth & get most/all my plants outside next year.

putting orchids outside is only good if there is enough rain, right?

im in montana....should i try to put my plants outside next year? we dont get much rain, and its very dry (every time i get in and out of my car, i shock myself). will the outside thing only work if i have sprinklers/misters spraying my plants all summer?

    thanks in advance!
