    Default cut flowers

These plants came back from the New Hampshire show and I found a garbage can filled with the cut blooms when I arrived at the greenhouse today. I decided to bring a few home. This is a speciosum hybrid. I understand that it had more than 40 spikes. I knew it was well bloomed but never counted the spikes before it left for the show.

This is Dendrochilum glumaceum. It smells like gingerbread cookies.

These flowers are not from my plants. I have a friend that is a commercial orchid vendor, specializing in slipper orchids. He allows me space in his greenhouses to grow my collection. If it wasn't for that situation I wouldn't be able to have the size collection that I do.

I do own a glumaceum but mine is a fairly young plant with only 4 spikes at present. He keeps some specimen-sized plants to use for displays at shows.

I should have titles this dumpster diving for orchids A few weeks ago I had Disas in a vase at home. They were purchased at the WOC and when repotted spikes were removed.

Can we see the disas? Pleaseeee?
I've been weighing the pros/cons of cultivating disas outside for months.

just went through my photos...thought I had taken a pic but can't find one. Allthe flowers have been removed from the plants and the plants are located in a flood tray at the greenhouse. We are just learning how to culture them.
