    Default Vanda teres ?

This is a recent purchase I got online advertised as vanda Joaquim, but the picture they provided of the bloom did not look like a Joaquim flower. I received the plants last Friday, bare root and one stem still had blooms. The only picture I could find is a dead ringer for teres. The leaves are smooth and rounded at tip , where my Joaguim Douglas is pointed and has a slight scoop at the leaf tip. Here is a pic of the bloom I received, please bear in mind I received this bare root and I'm surprised they have lasted this long, we are having strong winds and record highs, so the flowers are on their way out.Name: teres_edited-1 (Copy).jpg

It could be Vanda Miss Joaquim. There is some variance in color in these. This one looks closer to the teres parent than the hookeriana parent but could be pure V teres based on labellum structure. I would contact the vendor and question them.

That bi-lobed lip and yellow from the lip to the throat would suggest V teres (common form). I don't think it could be Miss Joaquim.

thanks everyone for your responses, the lip, I thought, was the key for identification, I found a post by Delphiguy from a little over a year ago on this site and the blooms look the same. Yew, I'm still looking for vanda Amy. thanks again
