I must HAVE the red one. WOW! That is increadible! My mom grows the purple one and it has taken over. Now they mow it down like a weed. I have dug up several "roots" and tried to grow it here, but without much luck.

    Your blooms are beautiful!

    Cheers!

Cool Molly! I grow them too and have the purple and I have one that is a light pink/purple. Those are the ones the caterpillars eat to the vine so we struggle to keep it alive every year. There is ONE genera of passion flower incarnata that they don't eat and we can't seem to find it. We had it at our old house and it was beautiful and overgrown but since we moved to the big house all the ones we plant get eaten. I need to go pluck pillars off of one this morning before they eat all the leaves. Love the red one!

Beautiful pictures, molly. the purple variation has always been one of my favorites, and another fond memory trigger as well, reminding me of trips to the beach as a little kid. i wish i still had pictures of the plants i used to have. thanks for the pleasant memories!

We grew up in Easton in Talbot County on the shore. Just moved full time to Fl 3 years ago.
