Default 2009 S.T.O.P. Preparing to roll out!

Alright folks, its May again. Its time for my annual S.T.O.P. selection process.

See Original Rules Here.
See Previous S.T.O.P. Winners:
2007
2008

Pretty much same rules apply this time.

So here's the list of plants on my S.T.O.P. Block for this round:

Two from this bunch: Maxillaria tenuifolia blooming size divisions - you can see that one division is already in bloom.
They are a bit skinny because they were just cut away from the mother plant less than one year ago. They should fill up nicely as they age.

Here's a close up of the flower:

Here's a picture of the mother plant, also showing buds:

Two, or possibly three from this bunch: Bc Little Stars x Maikai (4 inch pots)
Some of these have bloomed already.

From this bunch:
1 Cattleya Hawaiian Wedding Song 'Virgin'
1 Blc Magic of Mishima 'Volcano Queen'

Here are old pictures from the mother plants:

C. Hawaiian Wedding Song 'Virgin'

Blc. Magic of Mishima 'Volcano Queen'

So there you have it. Seven blooming size plants up for grabs.
Good luck everyone.

Where else can you find an online forum where you learn stuff about orchids and actually have a chance of nice orchids arriving at your doorstep?
Its only here at RVO's OrchidTalk Forum!

John

Wow...this is really nice! Why didn't I notice this happening last year?

That C. Hawaiian Wedding Song 'Virgin'....that is such a lovely bloom!

I am going to read more up on this in your rules.

John,

This is (and I guess has been) an absolutely lovely idea!! You are a very generous soul, and I know there are other generous souls on this forum too.

If the day ever comes when I have enough orchids (and knowledge about them) to be able to share some of mine, I would love to join you in this endeavor. What fun to be able to share our own pleasure with others, who will hopefully love, and nurture them as much as we do.

Thank you for doing this for others.

My thoughts exactly. For now, I'm concentrating on keeping my plants alive.

My Epicattleya Nebo is doing well...thanks John! I used to grow C Hawaiian Wedding Song...I ended up trading it away before I had a greenhouse...miss it...stunning white! Your mother plant is gorgeous

I think prior winners should be excluded from the running.

This alltogether is absolutely amazing for me... I'm a beginner and a new member - just joined today and so happy about it! This should be real something - to find a live orchid plant on your door steps one day from a person who you never met - feels somewhat like a blessing, doesn't it?... Will keep my fingers crossed (if it's not too late now).
