Default Will Touching Orchid Blooms kill them?

    alright, i have a question.

is it true that if you touch a just bloomed flower, the flower will wilt? the gardeners from the farm where i bought my phal told me so. even my mom said so.

    thanks in advance!

i dont think so, i always touch my orchids blooms just to check how the texture is and they
always last for a long time. so theres nothing to be worried.

Not unless you pinch the bloom or damage it in some way. Orchid blooms (for the most part) are pretty tough. I would think just touching the bloom (turning it to look at it clearly, cupping it to get the fragrance, etc...) should be fine for most orchids.

If you only touch it that's fine. But I "helped" one bud to open (I don't know what was wrong, but it was like sealed) and lost it very fast. So as BD said, you can touch, but don't "help" them...

I don't think touching the blooms will hurt them. You have to touch them to know what they feel like.
