Default The plant that started it all...

All the discussion and experimentation with cinnamon. I had this Mtssa Dark Star Darth Vader that I bought that immediately started to turn yellow, drop buds, etc. One suggestion was to check the roots and if there was rot to dust with cinnamon. That's how the Cinnamon Thread got started. Well I did repot and dusted (lightly) the cut off roots with cinnamon. Now you can take a look for yourselves at the results. Whether the cinnamon did help - ?? Of course it's flowering upside down. :-(

    Hi Diane,

First of all, I have to say, even upside down I think that's a great-looking flower! I have Mtssa Dark Star 'Darth Vader' and can't wait for it to bloom. (Hey, after all my Star Wars posts, you can't imagine I could pass this one up, now, could you????) I do hope, however, mine will bloom right way up!

On that note, does its unusual stance make it male or female? <insert evil grin>

    Cheers,

    Rob

Hmmm now I wonder... rotten roots are usually mushy and wet, no? So possibly it's actually the drying action of the spice in question that assists with stopping the rot... Hmmm, just a newbe, trying to work this out logically alla Mr. Spock.
