    Cool Mounting question?

Hi everyone I am about to cut down an old avocado tree trunk that has dried out completely and was thinking of using it to make some mounting pieces for my small Cattleyas & Demdrobiums what do you think?

Hi Beny that is a good idea just cut about 6 inches long and nail it than you can use a wire to hook it The plants will be looked so natural.

    Cool Avocado tree trunk!!

Ok here it is the Avocado tree trunk I had asked in my earlier post, now does this have potential to mount or do I chop this baby up and make small pieces for mounting, what do you think? I'm kind of pulling towards leaving it as is and mount 3 or maybe 4 Catts & Dendrobiums I think they would look amazing and natural.

I would leave it as is and like you said put several different orchids on it for a mulifloral display. Just post pics as you add to it and as it gets established so we can enjoy it too.

I use elastic filament. It is thin, not so visible and don't injure the plant. I buy it on haberdashery shop.
