    Season's Greetings!

I love medinillas but it seems that not all of it can be grown here in Cavite. How many do you have in your collectin Phil? and where are you in the Philippines?

Merry Christmas, thanks for sharing too.

Some medinilla species are high altitude and others are lowland.
They love to be put in the moist shaded areas and they prefer cool environment.
The only problem with them is that they dont like to be dry as they tend to wind-burnt their young shoots and flowers.

I lived in Bukidnon, the medinilla you have seen came from the province of Quezon and Nueva Viscaya.
I bought them freshly uprooted and then I just planted them by coco coir dust to retain moisture not wet feet.

The only technique in planting all types of medinilla are through young plant tips, placed them to the incubator to prevent them drying out. Your planting media must be moist but not soaked in water. To prevent them having fungal infection, have them cured with fungicide to prevent them having root rots.
