    Default Orchid Sitters

This Momma dove started her nest in my Sharry Baby and laid 2 eggs. I moved the nest and eggs to an empty basket lined with screening and she raised her 2 young through all of our hot and rainy weather. I took this picture this AM and an hour later they had fledged.

I really think that the story is what struck the cord... the photo fully visualised it!

Thas is cool picture. In new york, we got a lot of pigeons. Every Spring, a pigeon always tried to find nest outside our window, and I always try to scare it away. A few years ago, I was out of town for 3 weeks, when I came back, a mother pigeon alreay make a nest on my window box and laid two eggs. So I let the mother use my window box to hatch her babis. When the babis are are about to able to fly, one got sick. One day, I noticed the sick one was gone. It is 7th floor, and no way the sick baby can fly. So I looked down and saw a dead bird on the ground - the mother did it in order to save her healthy one.

I waited until the little one can fly, and forced her to fly away and removed their nest - they had left a mess outside my window. The next year, the mother tried her nest again on my window, no no, not any more.
