Nancy, that is great! I am sure that should take care of any nibblers!

    Cheers!

Looks nice! A safe, comfy home for your orchids to enjoy themselves outside!

I do not dare to put my orchids outside--there are endless numbers of:
    -squirrels
    -bugs
    -disgusting bugs
    -bugs ready to destroy orchids
-all sorts of orchid enemies...too many to list

Maybe someday I can build something like that too for my orchids, but it looks like it took quite a lot of effort to build those ones .
I'm not an expert with building...

I think these are pure genius! I have been obsessing about putting some orchids outside including my mini cyms and have been very worried about bugs and squirrels which I have personally seen eating my buds.

My only problem is that DH is not handy and neither am I! Maybe a carpenter could build one cheaply?? Those of you who have summered your orchids outside, have you seen a big difference?

It took 1 of my Phals less then a month to grow a leaf & throw out a new spike(from being despiked).I thought it would would be spring next year before i saw a spike.
To build my little orchid house was real easy. The portable greenhouse was bought for not a lot of money & i just covered it in greenhouse shading.
When i take the plants out on Sundays for feeding i spray the netting with
"Rose Clear" this is a fungicide/insecticide & hopefuuly will deter the bugs.

I've been hunting around a bit this afternoon (put the power of suggestion in my mind and I am off and running!) At any rate, these portable greenhouses are *very* available online, for around $30-50 depending on the place. Smith and Hawken had them but are sold out at $39.99 sale price. Darn it all! There are some really cool small greenhouses out there, for those us with limited room on our patio/decks!
