Talking Just got a bulbophyllum medusa

This is my end of the semester present to myself. It has been on the top of my wish list for some time and I finally decided to go ahead and get one. I could not find a large one, but this one has four growths, so that makes me happy.

Congratulations! I have always wanted one of these. Can hardly wait for you to post pics of your first bloom.

Nice present to yourself Bruce. If possible don't split up the plant. Grow it in a clump or mounted on a tree branch and you will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular displays of orchid blooms plus that fantastic fragrance. To this day I have never forgotten the sight of a tree branch 60ft above the ground covered in snow white blooms of Bulb medusa! For many years it became a sort of pilgrimage for me to visit the site of the tree during the blooming season and stand in awe and marvel at the sheer abundance and beauty of the blooms. Alas the tree is no more - a casualty to development and progress. And I don't even have a plant of Bulb medusa!

Mine was about that size when I got it and was in bloom. I've had it 3 years now. It's been a consistant fall bloomer.
