    ohhh,,,,so that is the term for it. happy sap. well many of my catasetums produces it (usually on a spike that is forming) and it is SWeeeeet..........ants go after it and SO DO I !!!

    I have seen sap on my Phrag leaves in the past, and have worried that something was wrong. Now I know it's because they are happy

    Thanks for talking about this 'happy sap'! That is so interesting because I am new to orchids I have seen this a lot on my orchids and was worried. Now I'm just even more excited.
    Also, I love the phal that started this thread. The mottled leaves are absolutely gorgeous. Do they get more mottled as they get older?
