Default Encyclia Rufa

Did anyone say green? ...
E Rufa is native to the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos.
There are several color variations of the bloom , mine turned out clear green, still opening on a 2 feet + spike. Extremely fragrant, they fill in the room with a pleasant smell of mango, according to one of my friend ....
I wish there was a "scratch 'n sniff" feature on OrchidTalk so you all could "sear" your nostrils on this sweet "tropical beach and flip flops fragrance". Enjoy!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

So many blooms on that spike! I have an Enc. rufa x Enc. cordigera but the bloom is definately not green. I passed up on a rufa once and now I wish I hadn't.

Thanks for sharing!

Very very nice! Thanks...I haven't seen that one yet....I'm starting to appreciate those smaller, highly scented flowers of the Encyclias. My local nursery has a variety generally and it's hard to resist them lately.
