Well, this is one orchid that I was looking forward to blooming. I have been waiting patiently for what seems like forever. Gin gave this one to me a couple of years ago. It is a slow growing orchid, but it finally decided to bloom - or maybe it has been doing this all along?? I am not sure. Anyway, today in the greenhouse was watering and said to me - 'hey look what this guy did' [he laughs here] and I [cry]. LOL! Not really, but it did disappoint me. It put out its bloom spike behind the mesh wire of the grow bench where it is mounted. The blooms (see first photo) are tiny and fragrant (spicy), but they are all squished behind the wire. Maybe next time?? At least we got it to bloom, Gin! Thanks so much again!

Too bad, Bruce. That sure looks like a wonderful spray of blooms. Maybe it will give you another spike soon. At least it is a happy orchid!

    Beautiful flowers.
It is unfortunate that the flowers went in that direction. With a large collection, things like this are bound to happen.

I had a neglected dendrobium some time ago sitting under my shelves and it decided to grow a cane right through the grills of the upper shelf. After that it was stuck there.
I either have to cut the cane or cut through the grills to move it - I did not want to do either one.
