    Default Masdevallia prodigiosa

    This cool-growing species occurs in the cloud forests areas of Chachapoyas, Pomacochas and Moyabamba, Peru. It can be found at altitudes of 1800-2100m.

    The species epithet derives from the latin prodigiosus, which means extraordinary or marvelous. Plant size 10cm. Flower size 3cm and tails 6cm.

    I would have to agree "Extraordinary [and] marvelous" seem ŕpropos. This is so beautiful. Thomas, if all 300 of your orchids are like the ones you have shared so far, you must have an "prodigiosus" collection.
