Zain, you may not give it enough light, i've seen Trichos here in nurseries growing next to Vandas, that is if humidity is high enough.
since your plant is well grown, give it a try and cut the top of to mount it higher up on your trees.
Ron I already gave up with this one I personally change the place to more direct sunlight without any shade at all for the past 4 months still lazy to give more flower, I dont know why maybe genetically is not free flowering clone, just guest, the other clone is fantastic bloom 3 to 4 times a year. Thanks Ron.

    Jef,

Trich atropurpurea and brachiata are synonymous with each other (I think). If I am not mistaken, Trich brachiata is the old name before it got renamed to atropurpurea. (or is it???)

Jojo thanks for answering Jeff ? you are right now they called atropurpurea, not only in your country in Malaysia also very pricey the size almost about 2 feet approximately 33 USD.

Yes zain these are a bit pricey even here in the Philippines. Very few growers sell these here as they keep these in their nursery collections.

But your clone is very beautiful ... it has very deep, dark colors and I notice that the one you have almost does not have the thin, white stripe on the edges of the flower petals.

Too bad that it is a lazy bloomer as you mentioned .... but who knows maybe you just need to find the right environment that it likes. Have you tried giving it some bloom-booster fertilizer? Maybe the plant is just waiting for the right temperature to initiate multiple blooms???

Trichoglottis atropurpurea is the species accepted by Kew. I believe Trichoglottis philippinensis is the species with the white edge.
