This is the latest to bloom this season, finally got ahold of a digital to get a pic up. First time this one has flowered for me. Blooms are about three and a half inches across, hang about three. Color appears reasonably accurate on my screen; sepals and petals a light lemon yellow with mahogany spots, cadmium yellow/mahogany/white in the lip. Enjoy.
That's really a nice shot. Tell me, what growing conditions do those need?
They're happy in low to moderate light, 40-60% humidity, temperatures can vary. I've read that they're tolerant to highs over 90, but found out this summer that they really need the diurnal drop to be happy with those highs. Seem to be Ok with 60-85 or so. They're very thirsty during growth and bloom, heavy feeders. I'll start to drop back on their schedule in a few weeks and pick it back up in the late winter or early spring.
I've always loved these I hope to find one here some day. Now there hard to come by. Very beautiful cream color and form.
Mine are all done blooming this year..
