Thumbs down Is this an orchid?

Hi group. I never planted, bought nor was given this thing but I found it on the ground in my backyard. I live in
South Florida by the ocean....far from the woods aka the Everglades. This plant has characteristics of an orchid minus leaves and spikes like an orchid. Is this an orchid? A weed? Any advice greatly appreciated

It's an orchid, introduced, and considered an invasive species. I think it is Eulophia graminea.

Enjoy, but you might want to limit the number of places it gets established in your yard.

I will be glad to take it instead of seeing it go to the garbage. Send me a PM if you want to ship to me or close to Cooper City, I will be glad to pick it up.

Did you ever get these Jack? I have been thinking about putting a few natives in my landscape.

Yes I did and they are doing well, but I planted them in a cedar basket. You would need to be careful when putting them in your landscape as they tend to take over the area where they have been found in the wild.
