Well, it is hard to believe now that a year and a half ago I had one orchid. I put them all back inside after it got down to 47 degrees the night before last (of course I was out of town!). The shade house worked very well overall except for it was a little too bright where I had the Phals and a couple of Onc.
Originally many arrived as seedlings or NBS that needed a fair bit of attention - I think they have good roots now though and seem pretty happy. Well, except the little Psych that got crushed by a huge poinsettia. Hopefully a lot more blooms will be in the future, but I'm afraid I will need a greenhouse in a few years when all these get to be mature.

The front window. It has a special story - the woman who lived here previously was from Columbia and kept a shelf here with orchids. A couple of people have told me they were very nice. They pulled her bed out into the living room so she could watch them and the mountains out this window when she passed. She also planted a huge number of things and trees in the yard that we really appreciate. I am using the shelf that was here out in the shade house. In part I know my current obsession is just because I finally wont have to move for a LONG time, but I also wonder if her spirit has something to do with it.
This is when we bought it from her daughter and son, the shelf is still there.
Onc, phals, Epi, Neo & Paraphal flasklings, and my Cat (C dowiana v. rosea, a low light cat). Apologies to the
Phal for the sunburn (I suck with Phals). The new bulb on the Onc is substantially larger than my fist & I am hoping for ~100 flowers from the two spikes.
