Default Some new pictures for 2009 - Lots of PICS!

Its finally warm enough that I had the energy to walk over to the greenhouse to take some pictures.
Nothing exciting so far, other than the fact that all the plants made it through winter.

These two are making me wait forever!

I see at least ten inflorescences.

    Maxillaria divisions doing well.

    Assorted hibiscus plants.

    My phals survived winter!

    When in doubt, mount.

    Cattleya seed pod.

    Dendrobiums

    Budzilla!

    More plants.

    Hibiscus cuttings.

The forth pic from the bottom... I've never seen 'pots' like those brown ones. What material is that?
Lots of plants, very nice collection!

Those are great shots, John. I really admire all the wooden slated baskets. That first photo of the dends in the baskets is great. You have such a well organized and neat greenhouse. I can see lots of care in your grow space. Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Cheers,
    BD

Those are called fern pots. They are the trunks of large fern plants that are dried up, cut into sections and hollowed out.
These pots are a few years old. I have not bought any new ones because the local stores stopped selling them.

Very neat collection and such pristine and well organized space!
It's always nice to see other people's growing areas and it gives some good ideas as well.

Thanks. I try to keep the growing area tidy.
    Otherwise it becomes "slug central".
All it takes is one small corner in the greenhouse with an obstructed view and no air circulation. And before you know it there are hundreds of the buggers breeding there.

That really does look great! I really like the phal mount--not only does the plant appear to like it (look at those roots!), but it is very interesting to look at--a living object d'art.
