    I get sort of sad when they drop. Only one of my Berenice blooms remains.

    The color on that center petal is wonderful too and I love the curls too. Thanks for posting as usual.

    (I cannot believe I didn't think to ask this before? Not like my curious self...)

    So why do we think this has no pouch? Just a total mutation in the species, or some reason behind this? There *must* be a reason! Anyone? Anyone? Jason?

    (lol! I crack myself up....I am showing my age...sigh.)

    It's just a natural peloric species. It was so bizarre when first discovered that it was given it's own Genus name, "Uropedium" before it was considered a Phragmipedium species because it was so different from the rest of the Phrags.
