Heather,
Look in the Breeding topic and check out Chromosome count. Nice discussion and explanation. Basically, it means more number of chromosomes, the weirder the plant but in a good way.

Can someone explain "4n" vs "3n" to me - I am sure it is a generation thing? Maybe? Okay, not sure, but curious! Would like to understand better. Not a math person! ha ha.

The FAQs in the Breeding forum talk a lot about that too, along with the thread called "Identifying ploidy." Sue did a really good job explaining things.
Thanks - I saw that after I posted, of course. I'll have to re-read earlier in the day when I am more math brained. Really, I am never math brained, but I shall attempt to get my head around it. Thanks for the easy definition! I guess that means my St. Peter is weirder.
