    Default Cymbidiella rhodicrosia

There was another post of this species recently. Mine is nearing the end of it's bloom cycle. Unlike cymbidiums, this group does not hold open all the flowers on the spike at one time. About 5 will open, then as the 6th opens the first dies back. Love the spotting. Soooo easy to grow.

Mine is also at the end of its blooms. Minor note here, I'm not sure that rhodicrosia is the correct name. Kew recognizes Cymbidiella pardalina as the accepted name, and Cymbidiella rhodochila is a synonym. I've never come across rhodicrosia as a synonym for this plant. Sorry for nitpicking. Beautiful blooms though. In the wild, these grow only on Staghorn ferns (Platycerium madagascariense)

Cymbidiella is a small genus, with only three species, all of which I believe are endemic to Madagascar...

I kinda like the look of this one. I think it is going to be the first one on my wish list. What care do you give it , Diane?

It grows very nicely with my cymbidiums outside, except I don't let it get quite so cold in the winter.
