Oh Gilda!Thanks!
Such a lovely piece of property - you've worked hard! So pretty. I love all the water features and your lilies are just beautiful!
2 questions: Is that your pet cow??
What the heck is the plant in the whiskey barrel? It looks like some sort of GIANT nasturtium!?
Thanks so much for taking the time to post. Just lovely!
Very beautiful place you have there. Thanks for posting the pics!
Thanks, I am happy to share!!!
That is our field ,but we no longer have cattle( we did at one time)...now we rent our pasture to a neighbor who has cows and horses!! Beats having to mow 5 acres!
The plant in the whiskey barrell is a lotus! It is fixing to bloom again, and I will take a pic....the bloom is beautiful...big as a dinner plate, and they leave the most interesting seed pod!
Ah! That explains the big pods. Couldn't figure that out! Thanks!
What a beautiful property you have there. The koi pond and the lily pool are just great. And your ornamental grasses are huuuge. They look terrific grouped together like that. Do you know if your lotus plant is shade-tolerant? I grow a lot of interesting plants for their foliage and I'd love to have one of those, but my property is mostly in deep shade.
PA Grower,
The lotus would grow in shade but I don't know how that would affect bloom....we did have some in a stock water tank under some tall pines but they still got morning and afternoon sun....bloomed like crazy.
Those are regular goldfish that have been in the ponds for years...they spawn, etc.
The grass grouping was an accident...we put them there 2 autums ago, with the idea of moving them the next spring...well.....you can see they haven't been moved. My Zebra grass is in back and you can't see it!
They will have to be divided this fall...it's getting way too crowded!!!!!!!!
Outside gardening was both our hobbies before I got addicted to orchids, now hubby takes care of the outside by himself....
Those lotus seeds are an asian delicacy! Hmmm, yum yum!
That's so beautiful! All the flowers, plants, landscaping---all are so gorgeous! It must have taken a lot of effort. Great job!
And that tree in the first picture, with the long broad leaves, (I forgot its name) looks so healthy. I thought I've seen it before in a store nearby as an indoor plant, but never knew it can grow outside (unless you live in a warm climate).
So many awesome plants, and the color mixtures work very well.
You mean frogs don't spawn in your pond? Dangit... Sorry, we just have a terrible time with them all summer long in my pond. I'll post pictures eventually.
