This is not the best flower or flowering I have had from this plant. The flower and mostly the dorsal is a lot smaller than usual for some reason bit I like the sheen the flower has this time.

Tim, I want it back to what it used to be, Brown/Tan with the purple duller and the wide dorsal. Also twice the size it is now, which it was.
i can understand the wider dorsal and bigger overall size... but the petals are really lovely with the purple...
so, what do u reckon made the difference?
I reckon that it should be flowered in a lot more light than it was this year or because I had to repot it and the roots were average, both ??
Emydura ( David ) has a pic elsewhere that looks like this one was last year and he says his plant is not esquirolei. I did querie that.
I know for a fact that this one is Esquirolei.
Beautiful blossom. Did you change your brand of fertilizer or potting mixture?
