That looks like a cymbidium enclosed in another flower. Cool!! The yellow is great on this one...

This is a species that hails from Brazil. I grow it in bark mix and fairly bright. It has a very nice sweet fragrance

I assumed at first that the plant must have an interesting vascular cylinder, but after looking it up the name actually refers to the flower -
porphyro = purple
stele = a stone or wooden slab, generally taller than it is wide, erected for funerals or commemorative purposes

than I must be waiting for.
My is warm on the windowsill and dry out between waterings.
In summer on the balcony with lower nightcooling.
What remains to be done better ?
