My first visit to nelson's farm

hi forum,

its been awhile since i was active here, will explain in another thread.
but finally i had the honor and pleasure to see nelson's farm and i hope there is more visits to come.
i had a great day with nelson and im still working on my jaw to keep it closed, lol.
after the farm we went to a nice little greek restaurant in his area on the volcano lake and we sat with the owner, which is an old friend of mine, perfect day for me!
as for any orchid pix, i cant beat nelson's, so i stick to just 1 pix from us and 2 at his home, where i could watch the master himself while drinking fresh brewed coffee.
unfortunately i ran out of battery on his farm, too busy taking shots and didnt focus on our handsome faces, hehe.

What a wonderful day out! I am turning a little green around the gills LOL oh what a beautiful sight that must be seeing all those wonderful orchids, You both look very happy in the photo so I am sure you enjoyed each others company equally. thank you for the photos I love them.

Ron, that is a great shot of you and Nelson! I love the last photo too! I wish I could travel to visit Nelson and see his farm! You are so lucky and he is lucky to get to meet you too. Thanks for sharing photos from your visit!

Of course you can. Just set a date long beforehand so I can schedule fairly. Fairly, because I have about 10-12 Christmas parties to attend every year, hahaha. Thus, the best time is between Christmas and New Year.

However, there are two blooming times in one season:
1. One to three months after the start of heavy rains - this is typically August to October
2. One to three months after the start of cool dry weather - typically January to March

So, if you come in December the first blooming time has barely started. On the other hand, you shall have the chance to experience a Philippine Christmas, and the short stretch of dirt road to the farm would not be muddy and almost impassable.

Thank you Nelson... I'll certainly give you plenty of notice.. it will likely be the first week in Dec as i have to be back in Sydney b4 Xmas, and i also have to head to Taiwan around the same time. oooh I can't wait!
