Can this orchid be saved?

Its a Beallara and I over watered it and now its really sick. I hate to give up on it as it is one of my favorites.

i would still give it a chance by potting it up, after you trimmed the roots, and resume watering.

Spag and bag. Thats what i would do. Get a fistful of chopped sphagnum moss, and put it around the roots (or whats left of them) then wrap in cling film. This way the moisture stays inside and encourages the roots to grow. Make sure its not too wet though. Then when a few good roots appear, pot into sphagnum. I find odont alliance members do well in sphag.

I re-potted it a couple of days ago and we had a wind storm today that blew the pot over. This poor plant can't catch a break. I think I will try the spag and bag method. Would it be a good idea to add any root hormone or weak fertilizer to the water in the spag? And how will I know if its "too wet"? Too wet is how I caused this mess so I want to get just the right amount of moisture. This is my first major orchid failure. I am also dealing with a sick nepenthes (monkey cups) but its looking better since I re-potted it. Another failure to water properly.

ok. No dont add any ferts etc, because there are no roots to make use of it lol....And to get a good amount of moisture, i squeeze (if you are using compressed sphag pellets) the water out of them once they are expanded. I do this until the sphag feels dry-ish, and starts to dry when i handle it. That is the cue! I have a nepenthes too, those pitcher plants are awesome! put that in a hanging basket or pot in sphag as well. That is what i use and now my nepenthes is massive! i can put up pics if you want

Thanks for the advice. Its been bagged and spagged (actually wet paper toweled). I'll wait awhile and see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed.

Good improvisation! You must have some Kiwi in there somewhere!

Did you make sure any excess water was squeezed from them? An advanatge with using Sphagnum is that the moss also contains a natural fungicide/pathogen killer. Any harmful bacteria or fungi is killed by the moss. Paper towels are well, paper towels good luck though! hope it works ! Keep us posted wont you!?
