Cattleya (Potinara ) Spicey

A first flowering for me ; I bought it just 12 months ago, not in flower. Has made a better bulb than previous ones. Superb depth of colour, not quite a perfect shape to my mind - not high enough for the width - but who cares with such a lovely colour. Medium size, just over 10cm natural spread.
The cross is an old one ; McLellan 1971 - Rlc Goldfield x C.Anzac.

We did invent the language on this side of the pond, and when Mr Webster was writing his dictionary and fixing American spelling, , our Sam Johnson was doing he same here. ( actually I don't know if they were contemporary )
And - amazingly - there are English English versions of Spellchecker, as well as others....

I like the shape. I get tired of the "round" flowers. Of course, I know next to nothing about showing or judging or any of that other business. Color is certainly luscious!
