    Default Mockingbird pics

    This guy was all over the place but with my new tele lens I was able to get some decent shots of him. Once he tried to use the bathrooom on my head and then he spat a berry at me.















    I love how in different lighting his colors would alter slightly from greys to blues.

    Wow that's a handsome bird, I like the fact that there's nothing "flashy" about it.
    Just subtle shades of greys, black and white.
    Oh and the pictures are not bad either!

    Ive tried to take pics of mocking birds before and they were always moody! lol love the pics!

    I love Mockingbirds, their song is unmatched in the bird world. We have several that serenade us when we are having our evening cocktails out on the patio

    I had never had a bird try to "poo" on me before or spit things on me...it was kinda weird. At least I am not the only one...lol.

    Glad you enjoyed the pics Cin and Lambe!!! He was singing a lot while I was taking pics...he finally flew off to chase another mockingbird.

    Yeah that one I got a few weeks ago...the 80-200mm 2.8. It's such a fast focusing lens...I wish all my lenses were that fast. I am trying to get used to it cause it's so heavy!

    No...I am afraid he would spit it at me! LOL

    I am hoping to take a wildlife photography class this fall to get better at capturing images of wild critters.

    I love mockingbirds. They have a great song and as you noted, they can be defensive when someone or something they don't like is around. I have frequently heard them chattering and making lots of noise and then found a cat hiding in the bushes. They will also fly around and dive at cats when they feel threatened. Fun to watch.
