Cattleya blemish

I have 2 hard leaf cattleyas both with lighter spots ( about an inch each) on the darker leaves. These spots are not sunken nor raised and I am wondering what has caused this?? Otherwise the plants seem healthy

sunburn caused a few of my catts to have white, bleached looking areas on a few leaves. Is this similar to that?

Sounds like sunburn to me too. If the spots turn mushy, I'd recommend cutting off the bad spots with a sterilized blade.

Bill, I am going to go under the assumption that you are growing in a window. If the sun overheats the cells then they can be damaged. Sometimes a leaf leaning against the glass or poorer air circulation and the glass side of the plant, even some magnification from the glass itself can do it.
