I'm curious if anybody grows this orchid. It's very complex hybrid of cattleya and very capricious one. I have a problem with new buds which start to grow and than indurate.
What might be the reason?

Are you sure it is not Cattleya Sonja Hellinger (Cattleya trianae x Cattleya Excelsior)? If so:
C. Sonja Hellinger is composed of species of which 100% take high light and 26% take medium light. Grow this hybrid in bright indirect light conditions. It may be tolerant of dappled light conditions.
C. Sonja Hellinger is composed of species of which 100% take cool temperatures and 100% take warm temperatures. Grow this hybrid in cool to warm conditions, or 58°F to 75°F at night.
50%-60% humidity. Mature plants MUST dry out between waterings. Grow in a pot with a porous, free-draining media. Fertilize weekly, weakly (one quarter to half the normal dose). Common media: fir bark, tree-fern fiber, expanded clay, lava rock, charcoal or a combination. (Orchid Wiz)

Hi Bruce,
many thanks for your detailed answer, but unfortunately (or better to say to the contrary having in mind photos available in the net) it's Cattleya Sonja Altenburg. Tried to find out what are the best conditions for the plant on the basis of parents and discovered very interesting info:
Hybrid formula: C. Enid "Butterfly" x C. Nerto.
If to look deeper to the species level it may be found that there are C. mossiae, C. warscewiczii, Cattleya trianae, C. dowiana, C. labiata.
Now I'm really disoriented how to take care?![]()

Based on OrchidWiz, it is 44% warscewiczii, 31% mossiae and 16% labiata. Based on this ancestry, it looks like it requires high light (warsc), high humidity (mossiae) and slight rest on matured growths (labiata) to trigger blooming. The drying and blasting of buds may be due to the low humidity. Maybe this might help?
