Hello everyone! I am new to caring for orchids. I got the phalaenopsis orchid randomly from my mom (who got it as a gift) back in November. It was in bloom when I got it, but the flower fell and I saw no changes and almost forgot about it...until recently when I noticed that (what I think is) a new spike emerging! I didn't see it before because it was hidden by the little clip. I attached a pic of my little plant-ling.
I do have a few questions regarding their care.
1. Do I need plant food? If so any recommendations?
2. When I re-pot, what type of media do I need? right now it's in some mossy type potting material.
3. I read clay pots are best, if so best place to find a bigger pot?
4. Any words of wisdom regarding Phalaenopsis orchids?
If I can get this orchid to flower again, I plan on rewarding myself with another orchid. I was thinking of getting an Amesiella philippinense alba (monticola).

Sorry this is so long....Thanks everyone!!!
