This was a beat-up portion of a Yam Queen catt that I separated into a couple of individuals.
I put it in a glass and sprayed it every day for a while, making sure to keep some water in the bottom. I really wasn't expecting much. It stayed green, but didn't do anything for a WHILE...like 4 months. Then lo and behold, I saw this new growth last week, and now it's growing quite strongly. The segment is still not in great shape, and I'm just hoping to see roots pretty soon, but things are looking up for my newest little buddy.
I just got my first blooms on the original plant as well. I will probably take some pics of those and post them eventually. The window sill where I have these is a pretty good environment, I think.
Just thought I'd share this success story...it just proves that orchids are tough as nails!
