Well it didn,t take long for this to rebloom. My 2 x Z. Artur Elle are proving more stubborn.
Only 2 of the 4 buds flowered but thet are considerably bigger than the first flowering(4 1/2") , the scent is superb.

4 1/2"? That seems massive for a zygo bloom. I'm jealous! Mine are ever only an inch and a half. Do they really get that large, or could your NOID have some questionable parentage...
Julie
Some species Zygos have blooms 3 1/2"+ , being a noid it could have all types of parentage.
that bold lip pattern and the solid brown petals are striking!
I like the green petal outline a lot too. Nice one Steve!
What a wonderful flower. I will have to look for one at the upcoming orchid show in Spokane.
Oh Tessie! Are you in Spokane area?? I go there once per month usually with hubby but even though this is the regular weekend to go and I was planning to go to the show, I CAN'T MAKE IT!And the passes are looking snarly this weekend. Sad, sad, sad.
Please post info about the show though. I've scoured Spokane for orchid sources on an "outsider's" hunt, but would love to know where are the real places to go and meet other growers in that area, from an "insider's" perspective. I'm sure there are better resources than NW Seed and Pet stores! (Though my granddaughter loves to go there to visit the crocodile and the Monitor Lizard!)
Have a great time at the show and good luck in the zygopetalum hunt! (these are some of my favs for this area).
