White spots on inside of pot

I was repotting some of my orchids when one of them have white spots in the inside of the pot after removing the old medium. Kinda looks like white spider web except they are scattered all over the pot. I definitely cleaned out the pot with bleach. Washed the roots of the orchid, & sprayed it with Physan 20. Then, I repotted it in a new pot & medium. Watered it & sprayed it with Superthrive. Is there anything else I need to do? & does anyone know what the white spot is? Thanks in advance.

You may have spider mites. They do tend to make webs, and i've noticed they like to colonize down in pots. When I have that problem I used a soap and alcohol to kill them. I used cheap dishsoap or murphys oil soap mixed with rubbing alcohol. You can dunk the whole plant, just make sure to place it in an airy spot afterwards so water doesn't sit in the leaves and cause rot. I sometimes use a small fan to dry the plant faster.

Hello Amy.Without a photo it could also be Mealy Bugs.For your sake I hope I'm Wrong.There are many posts about them in the Orchid Ailiments/Compost Pile heading. I also included a post I found on the net that shows photos. Good Luck,Rich

Amy,do the photos in the link on my last post look like what you were dealing with? Mealbugs can spread from pot to pot easily. I thought from what you were describing they might be Longtailed Mealybug? If so you might want to look over your other plants very closely. Take Care,Rich

Hello again, Rich. Well, the white web looks like it, but I did not see any mealy bugs on the web of the pot or on the plant. So, I am not sure. - Amy -
