While sifting through the photos in my files I came across these pictures taken a few years back. The first two pictures were taken at Prapat, the main town on the shores of Lake Toba, the biggest volcanic lake in the world. Lake Toba, measuring 100km x 30km, was formed after the eruption of the super volcano about 70,000 years ago.
While on holiday there, we were getting ready to go for our breakfast, when I noticed this most fantastic light breaking through the hills, from the balcony of our hotel room. The light was so beautiful that it made the whole scene look so ethereal. I managed to take a few shots and then looking out of the side window noticed these two figures walking down the road. Wish I had seen them a few seconds earlier and then they would been better placed in the picture.
The third picture was taken on a very misty morning while on an orchid outing in the mountain, near my home.
I wanted to post these pictures to show the contrast between the warm light of the
sun at sunrise and the cooler light an hour or so after sunrise.
