Keiki on Phal - What care should be taken?

Hi. I have 2 new keikis sprouting on my Phal. (after using keiki paste) which has still got flowers on the stalk. My questions are... 1. Do I still do the regular fertilising/water bit and carry on as usual. 2. When the flowers finally finish, do I leave the stalk as is, or do I cut just above the keikis. No leaves or roots have developed on the keikis yet. Your help would be appreciated.

When I get keikis on my Phal stems I leave them develope and grow until they have several roots at least an inch or two long before cutting and potting them. Good Luck! Love when my orchids give me free plants.

Bill giving good advice. The keikis need roots and leaves to be able to live on their own. They should have several roots at least 1-2 inches long.

Thanks Susan and Bill, but my question was about the feeding of the mother plant and care after the flowers have died?

You treat it as normal. Leave the spike intact. Fertilize for growth. Watering is more seasonal...water less when the weather is cooler and when they receive less sun.

When flowers are done cut stem above the keikis and do the water and fertilize "bit" as normal.
