Kagawaras in bloom

Some time ago I posted pics of Kgw Christine Low. This time I'm posting pics of Kgw CL and Kgw Seri Perak for comparison. Unfortunately 2/3 of the latter's blooms have dropped since it had been flowering for more than 6 weeks and the rains have caused havoc to the flowers. Nevertheless I have included it in the pic to show that kagawaras are than just reds and orange.Another reason for including it at this stage of the flower life is to show how longlasting the flowers are , and how they don't fade even until the last flowers have dropped.

Those are rather nice, I do like the vandas that are bright and make a great showing.

*To all Filipino growers; Kagawara ( Ascocentrum x Renathera x Vanda ) are easy to grow in our climate, outdoors 24/7 and are very free-flowering and floriferous. The mature CL in the pic has 3 spikes as you can see and the flowers are 2" in size. They do need lots of light, though.

Hmm...looks like something that would just love my new little room!! The bright colors are so amazing on both...Kagawara...time to go to the nursery!! I'm goin to be looking for these now.
