Phal problems

This lovely Phal just made two new spikes but after the first flower opened, one spike is stagnating (no growth) while the one with the flower lost 4 underdeveloped buds. They turned yellow and fell.


I have several other phals, all of them flowering and growing spikes. All get the same treatment, sit on the same windowsill.

The second Phal with "problems" is the one below. The only one in my collection without new spikes. I think it has a small pike (2-3 mm) but it's not growing. Should I worry? The roots are fine, lots of new ones, same conditions as the others.

If the orchid plant is healthy, give it some time. And some of these phals need a cool down period to cause the orchid to spike. I really love the bloom on the red and white phal.

Phals take a while to adjust to their new surroundings, my Phal took a couple of months to show any signs of growth! Some still are very slow ( but today I found a new leaf growing ) also the orientation of the sun changes which is also an adjustment for them. Try not to move around too much, watch for sudden temperature drop and steady feeding. Good luck

well, I guess moving them 2400 km is a lot of stress and they take cope with it in different modes
