Mystery Ascocenda

This ascocenda was a gift from my sister-in-law. It came from a very reputable and knowledgeable grower and the tag says "Ascda. Chattaladae". It was in bud when I got it and so I searched online to see what it should look like when it opened. That's where the mystery started. All the web hits spoke of "Phal. cornu-cervi fma. Chattaladae" and I couldn't find that name associated with an ascocenda at all. Anyone ever heard of this plant?

No, but it is very pretty.

This one is easy, depending on which of the 5 names I've seen for it on the web. I have this one & according to the originator its, Ascda Hiyasmin 'Korat'

Leslie, can you share a photo of the plant that this bloom belongs too? I wish I had it or one like it. Lovely patterning in the orchid blooms - not to mention the lush red coloring too!

Yes I remember seeing Roy's Hiyasmin post last year. It is a really lovely ascda. Been trying to get one since seeing Roy's post last year.

Thanks Roy! I appreciate it! LeeOrchids is part of my email address and Lee is my last name. I wonder why someone put "Chattaladae" on the tag? Weird.
BD--this is the only pic I have of the rest of the plant and sadly it's somewhat blurry. It really just looks like your typical ascocenda.

A Very healthy, good size ascocenda by the looks of it in this last photo. I need a deep or bright red vandaceous type orchid such as this. Can you PM me the grower of this neat plant? Thanks in advance! AL
