    Default Miltonia Maui Mist 'Golden Gate' in bloom !!!

    Hello everybody !!!! I want to share with you guys one of the blooming orchids right now. It's a beautiful Miltonia that was in bud when it came home and it's open now. I love the blooms on it.

    Oh, how pretty! The flowers are great and the foliage looks wonderful, too.

    I got a great price on a Miltonia Maui Mist (unsure of variety) recently - a marked-down sale-price clearance item that looked like it really needed help. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it makes it!) What is unusual, though, is that the plant itself has a really nice fragrance - it reminds me of frankincense, of all things. Is that typical - does yours have that (or any) fragrance? It's my only orchid that the plant itself has a fragrance.

    Thank you !!! I really couldn't detect a scent on the foliage. Maybe it needs to have sun hitting it or something. I'll try again when it's sunny out. Hopefully today will be the day that we get rain !!!!

    Beautiful, Rolando! I wish I could grow milts but, alas, they do not like my conditions at all! I must instead enjoy the flowers of others like you instead.

    Soon I'll be posting my Miltonia spectabilis var. semi-alba. It has 4 bloom spikes and bloom every year. This is different from this one that I posted today due that it only produces one flower per inflorescence.
