Psychopsis papilio(Boris) question.

Well Boris is just about opening the first of 2 buds , just been having a close look & noticed something strange.
What i thought was part of the bud (2 1/2" long) appears to be 2 growths growing from where the bud is attached to spike.
What are they ?
Is the next bud or buds forming or has Boris decided to branch the spke again.

Oh yes why is the plant called Boris ?
Well for you crinkles(like me) who remember that slow deep lispy voice of Boris Karlov try saying "Psychopsis papilio " like he would.
I bet it suits the plant perfectly.

I would guess since these bloom sequentially it is the next bud developing. I don't recall seeing a Psychopsis papillio branch, but I'm certainly not an expert on this one.

Have to wait and see what other members think?

Yep, those are buds...and you might get 2 out at the same time...looks weird...and personally I think it detracts from the bloom..here is a pic. of mine that does that...
